What is menopause?
The period preceding final cessation of menstruation, perimenopause, is characterized by significant changes in oestrogen levels that can lead to a variety of symptoms of differing intensity. It is during this transition period that menstrual irregularities and uncomfortable symptoms appear: flushing, sleep disturbance, mood swings, etc. Some women are unaffected or suffer very little, while for others it can be years of misery.
In addition, as oestrogen levels drop during menopause, there is an increased risk of cardiovascular disorders. Heart disease and circulatory system problems rise dramatically among postmenopausal women.
This is why we designed Annedda MENOPAUSE®, a product specially formulated to relieve the symptoms associated with menopause and reduce the risk of suffering from cardiovascular disorders.
Counteracts the symptoms of menopause
Black cohosh
The roots of black cohosh have long been used by the native peoples of North America for relieving pain associated with the female reproductive system. In the mid-20th century, German doctors began to use a standardized black cohosh extract as an alternative to hormone replacement in postmenopausal women. More recently, reviews of clinical trials have concluded that black cohosh is effective at alleviating the hot flashes and mood disorders that can occur with menopause.
Vitex (chaste tree)
Clinical trials have shown that the small fruit of Vitex, which resembles a peppercorn, can effectively alleviate irritability and mood disorders related to hormonal changes in women with premenstrual syndrome and symptoms associated with perimenopause.
Maca
The roots of maca, a Peruvian plant, have shown to have a positive effect on the quality of life of women in early menopause. This includes mitigating some psychological symptoms such as anxiety, depression and sexual dysfunction.
Reduces cardiovascular risks
White pine bark
White pine bark extract standardized to 95% proanthocyanidins offers many benefits for patients with or at risk of cardiovascular disorders. Thanks to its exceptional antioxidant power, anti-inflammatory properties and favourable action on the connective tissues that form the internal walls of blood vessels, it offers many benefits, including: counteracting blood clot formation and thus preventing heart attack and stroke; helping control blood pressure; protecting vessels when blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels rise; ensuring the integrity and proper functioning of blood vessel walls; and contributing to the treatment of venous insufficiency.
This is the Annedda® flagship extract, an exceptional antioxidant and the best in the world in its category.
Turmeric
Turmeric, another natural antioxidant, also has anti-inflammatory properties that effectively protect against heart disease and circulatory system disorders. Researchers have recently shown that the incidence of cardiovascular disorders is related to the presence of chronic inflammation. Unfortunately, the technologies used by major producers of turmeric extract eliminate almost all of turmeric’s natural aromatic constituents (essential oils). This means that the turmeric extracts generally available to consumers are incomplete. We go to great lengths to ensure the essential oil missing from commercial products is added to our product so that you are benefiting from the complete extract. You will notice the difference as soon as you open our product and smell its characteristic aroma.
Other antioxidants
For good measure, we have also added vitamin C and blueberry extract, two other antioxidants that boost the effects of the white pine extract and turmeric.
